Fashion-week style can feel most useful after the runway show is over. YoonA's off-duty look in ELLE Korea's Milan Fashion Week article is a good example: a camel coat over a brown knit with denim. The palette is quiet and autumnal, yet the outfit does not look weighed down by its layers.

YoonA attended Max Mara's Spring/Summer 2027 show on September 24, 2026. Reports described it as her first official engagement after becoming the label's first Korean artist to be named a Friend of the Brand. Her suit at the show drew attention, but the camel, brown and denim combination outside the show offers the more repeatable idea.

Camel and brown, without the visual weight

When both the coat and knit belong to the brown family, the upper body can merge into one heavy block. This look separates their values. A lighter camel coat defines the outer line, while a deeper brown knit sits inside it. Blue denim interrupts the run of warm tones. There are only three main colors, but each one has a clear job.

The textures do just as much work. A softly brushed coat, visible knit structure, firm denim and a smooth leather bag reflect light differently even when the colors are related. When dressing in close shades, changing texture is often easier than adding more colors.

Try the formula with what you own first

You can test this combination without a particular label. Start with a beige or camel coat and mid-wash denim, then add a knit one or two shades darker than the coat. Charcoal or deep navy can stand in for brown. Instead of matching both shoes and bag precisely, use dark brown on only one of them to keep the outfit from feeling overly arranged.

01Check that the shoulders do not lift and that the front falls cleanly when the coat is open.
02Choose a knit thin enough to leave room at the arms and underarms.
03Begin with minimally detailed mid- or dark-wash denim, which is easy to pair with brown tones.
04If a long coat overwhelms your frame, try a hem around the knee before moving to mid-calf lengths.
The closer the colors are, the more the gaps in brightness and texture matter.

Look beyond the color when comparing coats

The article photos do not establish the exact model of YoonA's coat, so a claim that a similar listing is her item would be misleading. Compare the shoulder line, overall length, lining and fiber content before the celebrity association. Max Mara's official 101801 coat page shows some of the long-running reference points for camel coats, including roomy kimono sleeves and a wool-and-cashmere fabric. You do not need that particular coat, but its specifications offer a useful benchmark.

One locally available comparison is LEFTSEOUL's brown handmade coat. It has a similar warm tone and relaxed long silhouette, although its hood makes it visibly different from YoonA's lapel coat. Treat it as a way to check whether this color and length suit your wardrobe. If you already own a comparable coat, there is no reason to replace it.

The most durable part of a celebrity outfit is rarely the product name. Here, the reusable idea is the relationship between the pieces: a light coat and darker knit create depth, denim cools the palette, and one leather accessory finishes it. Adjusting the length and thickness to your body and weather is more natural than copying the outfit exactly, and it may be enough to make a coat already in your wardrobe feel useful again.
